Rusty Walace Cruise

We are booked on the 12/1 7 day Triumph cruise for our honeymoon and just read on the board that it is now a Rusty Wallace Cruise. I am sure my chance at getting future fare reductions are nil now. We are not really Nascar fans. We were originally booked on the Freedom but swiched to the Triumph because of the private island. Our 1st instinct is to stay on the Triumph and go with the flow, but am looking for input from people who have sailed on previous Nascar cruises and what they they were like.

Maybe all the folks with the RW group will be doing activities and hanging out together, and will leave more chairs at the pool, easy access to the buffet, and room to browse in the photo booth?? :D

 

Seriously, I wouldn't worry about it too much - you may not even notice they are onboard.

I can say I was on a Rusty Wallace cruise about 14 years ago on the NCL Norway, and we didn't know he was even there. When we booked, we had no idea it was a theme cruise and didn't find out until we were on the ship. We actually would see him just hanging out when he wasn't doing talks (Q&A) in the lounges. Nothing at all to worry about. You should have a great time.

I was'nt on Triumph with nascar people but with REO Speedwagon, Sticks, and Journey and was not much different except that was my favorite cruise of my 26 so far. They were hanging around many places. We met them at the Casino each night and met REO in the fitness center. I think you'll enjoy it no matter what. We did'nt go on that cruise to attend their concerts and pay extra but met them throughout the week and had a blast.

My Husband and I were on a RW cruise a few years ago. We Had no idea that it was RW cruise till on board. It was fine, we found that there were alot of 1ST time cruisers who had win the cruise.

Your Lucky!! We're big Nascar fans!! We were on a cruise once and the Parrotheads (a lot of them) were on our cruise. Didn't even know it till later!! You will have a wonderful time I'm sure!!!
