'EYES' mounted at her stern..

I continually marvel at the engineering and naval architecture

of these magnificent cruise ships we all enjoy.

 

While taking pics of ADVENTURE Of The Seas exiting Bridgetown Harbour, Barbados,

I noticed a small stern-mounted (down low) radar

no more than about 20 ft. above the waterline,

presumably to act as an "eyes in the back of the head" safety feature

while going astern.

Kinda like trying not to back over the kids on tricycles, in yer driveway?

 

The attached photo shows ADVENTURE's stern section,

- you can see that small radar unit quite plainly.

 

They thought of everything, didn't they?
