Rare Keith1010 Posted July 11, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I've been to both. I prefer Horsheshoe Bay beach. To me it's more unique in terms of its shape. I consider Horeshoe Bay to be one of the nicest beaches we've ever been to. Keith
lvtotrvl1 Posted July 11, 2007 #3 Share Posted July 11, 2007 I prefer Horseshoe..Elbow Beach is partly private for the hotel guests. I like Horseshoe because you can walk forever. I will agree with the poster above...it's the most beautiful beach I've seen.

bdaguy Posted July 12, 2007 #5 Share Posted July 12, 2007 both are beautiful beaches, but horseshoe has a fastfood restaurant and changing facilities right there. in bermuda there is no such thing a a private beach. they are all public, but the access to the beach may be private ie you can't walk through someone's property to access the beach, but you can swim ashore. in the case of elbow, despite the signs the hotel puts up, they can't stop you from wandering along the entire length of the beach. it's all based on "the queen's foreshore" law which simply states that no one can own the sea bottom, as well as land that is sometimes underwater like at hightide and storm surges. happy exploring!
