Shore Excursions In Nyc

Outside of cruise ship excursions, any advise on how to get from port to city and who can you recommend for city tours, etc?

New York City is easy to do on your own. In terms of transport, just take a taxi cab.

 

I would make a list of places you want to see and then buy a map and you will be set.

 

Obviously, there is a limit to what you can see in one day so I would like a few places and also give yourself time just to walk around a bit.

Depends on what port.

 

If it's the one in Manhatten -- walk outside. You are there.

 

If it's Red Hook Brooklyn, take teh subway to your destination of choice if you are brave. Take a taxi other wise.

 

If it's Port Liberty in NJ, that gets a bit more complicated.
