Pontius Navigator Posted July 21, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 21, 2007 We are on the Constellation next month. Can anyone tell us if the mattresses are comfortable and whether mattress toppers can be provided? Is there a pillow menu because we want a thin pillow for sleeping but thicker ones for lying abed? How about the air conditioning? Is it easily set and is it quiet?
CaliforniaDreamin Posted July 21, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 21, 2007 We are on the Constellation next month. Can anyone tell us if the mattresses are comfortable and whether mattress toppers can be provided? Sometimes and yes. Request a waffle topper from your cabin steward right away if you want one. Is there a pillow menu because we want a thin pillow for sleeping but thicker ones for lying abed? There is a pillow menu for Concierge Class (CC). Ask anyway if not CC. Cabin steward will try to please you. How about the air conditioning? Is it easily set and is it quiet? Yes, a dial on wall by the bed. Fairly quiet in my estimation. That sea breeze is very nice,
Pontius Navigator Posted July 22, 2007 Author #4 Share Posted July 22, 2007 Thanks a lot. One thing we did not like about the Arcadia was the aircon noise although they did a great job of fitting baffles to it AT 2AM! As for leaving the door open, because the aircon was continuous the door was one a super powerful spring and no latch hook. We jammed several paperbacks in the hinge gap which kept it half open. :)

Easy to pack and often does the trick. ;)
SusieV Posted July 22, 2007 #6 Share Posted July 22, 2007 I believe you are not supposed to leave balcony doors open. I think there have been threads about this.
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted July 22, 2007 #7 Share Posted July 22, 2007 Well, what's the point of having a balcony if you can't leave the doors open??? We hapily left ours open all the time we were in the room on our Alaska cruise, even at night.
Luxuriate Posted July 23, 2007 #8 Share Posted July 23, 2007 Well, what's the point of having a balcony if you can't leave the doors open??? We hapily left ours open all the time we were in the room on our Alaska cruise, even at night. There is no way we would sale in a balcony without the door being open. It is part of the joy of cruising with a balcony! Cheryl
