tinlizzy Posted July 22, 2007 #1 Share Posted July 22, 2007 Are guarantee cabins eligible for a rate adjustment or OBC if they sell out and the rate for a regular cabin where the cabin # is chosen goes down in price? Is that clear? For instance: Balcony guarantee is $759. Regular upper deck balcony starts at $779 but closer to the cruise date the guarantees are sold out but the price of the regular cabin is $689. jleq Posted July 22, 2007 #2 Share Posted July 22, 2007 If the price within your category--such as 8a balcony--goes down to less than what you paid...you may well get OBC

Since the guarantees are cheaper than the cabin you wind up with, say you got a IS guarantee and they assigned a 4C cabin, its probably even less likely that the price would drop enough to get the OBC, but it happened on my RCI cruise, even before final payment so it does happen. I asked for a upgrade for part of the credit and got a refund.

You could be told as I have in the past that the category you are booked in is sold out thusly they can not discount something they have nothing of. In your situation, you would have to ask to be booked in a specific cabin to be able to take advantage of the price drop. Dave
