Cruise Planning?? East Coast Ports

We are planning a cruise for our 30th Anniversary next year. Thinking about doing a Western Carribean Dec 08. Can anyone fill me in on which ports are close to the airports. We hate the arrive and travel for a hour or two to the cruise terminal thing. Just curious if there are any ports of departure that are easy and quick to get to. We like San Diego on the West coast. $10 taxi ride and about 15 minutes. :) Also any suggestions on great Western Carribean trips. We have not narrowed down which lines yet.

Ft. Lauderdale is very convenient, less than 5 miles and about a $10 taxi, $12 at most.

 

Miami isnt that far, but I hate the traffic and getting around more, but both are close to each other.

Ft Lauderdales Port Everglades is 2.5 miles from the Ft Lauderdale Airport. You can actually see the cruise ships from terminal one. ;)

Cape liberty is 10 miles (15 minutes) from EWR

Port of Philadelphia is a 10 minute ride from PHL

Tampa is considered Gulf Coast departure but TPA and the cruise port are about 10 miles, 20 minutes apart. I mention this because there are several Western Caribbean cruises that leave from Tampa, so that would you give you more options to consider.
