Make sure you get everything in writing from Glory Tours. We had a REALLY bad experience with one of her driver's last year. Just a few of the problems: He took us to a grocery store and said he'd be just a minute(turned out to be 15 minutes in a hot van with 2 small children). Then we were along for the ride to deliver them to his girlfriend who he said needed groceries and didn't have a car.

He had very bad language and definately questionable morals. Said he had lots of kids but most of them were brats and their mothers were *****'s.

Told my 16 year old she looked "hot" and much older than her age. She said he "accidently" brushed against her twice. Luckily, she didn't mention this to my 6'1", 200 lb.+ husband until we were back on the ship.

We had one problem after another, including 4 stops(each taking 5-10 minutes) to pick up others when we were on the snorkel boat. We arrived with 15 minutes to snorkel with the turtles - no turtles. The one guy on the boat said- "yeah, too bad, there's usually no turtles when we get here this late-they are already overfed for the day and not interested."

Anyway, I could go on and on. The day we returned, I emailed Sarah immediately and told her the entire list of things that happened during our miserable day. I told her that we had an awful experience and that we would like a refund. She said she'd talk to her driver and get back to us. She emailed back and was very kind and apologized for our day. Although she was not willing to refund our money, she didn't dispute anything I said. She said that if we ever came back, she would gladly personally escort us and make sure we had a great day. We were ready to "forgive and forget".

Guess what-emailed her and told her we will be back in Barbados in December and my sister and my family would like to take her offer of a personal tour. BIG PROBLEM-originally 8 of us(7 paying + 2yr old-free)-now she's only willing to take 2 of us complimentary. I'm very disappointed that she is now unwilling to stand by her promise. When I give someone my word, they can be assured I will do as I promise. I guess money is more important to some.

I don't remember his name. But in Glory Tour's defense, she did sound very displeased with his actions. This was over a year ago and I would guess that he no longer works for her. She really seems to be very careful that she hires drivers that are up to her standards and wants to make sure that they give everyone has a great experience. She seemed to me, at the time, to be very sorry for our day. I just wish I would have copied the email offering us a better experience next time.

I have a tour booked with Glory for 2009. I have been corresponding with Sarah back and forth. I am shocked to hear about OP's bad experience. She seems to be quite professional and I have read very good reviews that other people have taken with her. This is a problem when your employees who can either "make you or break you" do something like this and then make the entire organization look bad. I hope that tour guide is no longer with Glory.:)

I'm speculating here but I'm fairly sure that was no "employee"

but rather whatever fill-in taxi driver she could get her hands on, in a hurry.

On behalf of Barbados, I apologise for his horny behaviour.

What are the names of the other tour operators? I'm trying to find a nice tour for my mom and brother to take while my husband and I are on a catamaran for the day (they've both done that before, and want to do a land tour). I've read a few not-so-great reviews about Glory, and I want to check out others. The above experience is truly unforgivable. If you have a good business, then you make sure you have only the best guides working for you. And if a group had a bad experience, then you make it up to them - at any cost. I did contact one driver about a private tour. $125 not including admission to any sites. Suggestions?

Thanks much

First of all let me tell you all that the ONLY reason that I do these tours is because I love doing them. I love my Island and I love sharing it with others and I love meeting new people.

Thats not meant to be and advertisement for our services. It is from the heart and anyone who has done a tour with me personally will tell you that :)

Secondly I remember Tammy and the incident which has become more colorful than my original email and complaint from her.

Another thing that anyone who knows me or has been on a tour with me will tell you is I love kids and anyone who speaks badly of or approaches a child in a wrong manor is NOT tolerated in my books. Basically run and hide because children in my books are blessings and gifts to be treasured not abused or taken for granted.

Third if I could afford to do all tours for free I would. Unfortunately I can not I am not a millionaire not even slightly close to it, by any stretch of the imagination. I try to help people out with pricing as much as I can because back to point one I do it because I love my Island and love sharing it with others.

Fourth that driver has actually been fired on a totally unrelated matter and nothing to do with behavior towards guest. My clients are to be treated first class.

Fifth I do not remember offering a free tour for 8 people. It was probably a unspecific offer which I should have made more clear. One of those learn as you live experiences. Note to self be more specific when dealing with such situations :)

Folks you have go to remember more than half of what you guys pay on a tour goes out on entrance fees. Some tours we barley break even or fall short especially when I give my extra specials out ;o)

This is one from the heart.

Now to Tammy and her family I am truly sorry for your bad experience.

and I wish you and your family all of the best, happiness, love and prosperity.

Do you remember our circumstances when we visited your Island in February? We were very disappointed that you had left without us. We were late to Barbados through no fault of ours. I had sent you an email about us arriving at a different time and had never received an answer.

My appologies again tweety as I mentioned we never got the email.

We now try to check the port for the arrival times on a morning and there departure times on a evening especialy when we have several bookings from the port on diffrent ships.

I have noticed the last year or so thats ships are more frequently changing their docking time and days and so we have to keep a closer eye on them.

We are going to be in Barbados in November aboard the QM2 on Sunday, the 25th from 9 am to 6 pm. What can you do for us?

I also plan to keep my reservation with Glory. Having already been impressed by Sarahs professionalism, her honest replies to this thread confirms my original thoughts. I know however that "sh-t" can happen and am not downplaying what happenned to the other 2 people.:) I hated our cruise on Vision of the Seas to Alaska, yet there are thousands if not more who will tell you that they had the opposite experience. So that being said-I am looking forward to my tour with Glory:D

many of the other tour operators that I wrote -were charging very high prices to look out windows (barely any stops)also,I want to go to north point many do not want to go there.I had a problem with one that I was going to book who did not want to wait while we went to harrisons caves.Sarah is more than willing so we booked her!:D

absolutely right.

I have found operators sounding nasty in emails to me because of where I wanted to go and they didnt -that was a turn off to me.

Most people have said such positive things about GLORY TOURS-they can not all be wrong!:D

I am still going to go with Glory Tours. Sarah has the most comprehensive tour that I have found, and the price was right. $79pp for an all day tour with Lunch and admissions. I am sure there are horror stories with many tour operators from time to time.

every tour in every destination from time to time has a disatisfied customer.Even the best and nicest-that is business.Sarah had a bad driver and she got rid of him.I too, look forward to my tour in barbados and will post about it when I return----next year-

Exactly, - she had a bad employee and got rid of him, now she needs to stand by her word.

My post is not more "colorful" than my email to her, in fact I left out much more. I'm not a complainer-I make the best of all situations. Anyone can do a search and read ALL of my posts-hundreds of posts, 20+ cruises-this is my ONLY complaint. Some people just look for things to complain about-this is not one of those cases!

My family(DH, myself, 16 yr old, 2 yr old) and My sister's family(DBI,DS,15 yr. old, 6yr. old) were on the tour. I didn't say Sarah offered 8 to return for a complimentary day. The number was 7 of us. We are not even close to Millionaires either. I don't think that changes any of the facts. We had an awful day, Sarah offered to have us return. She can't monitor her employees 24/7, I just think he turned out to be a bad decision. All I'm asking is for is that Sarah give what she offered. If she didn't intend to stand by her word, why offer?

Sarah and I are currently corresponding and I'm sure we'll get this resolved.

I'm sure Sarah will make things right also, and I will definately post what happens.

Our favorite - definately Princess. Everything they offer seems to be perfect for us. We like freshwater pools and anytime dining. We get very good past passenger rates. For our December cruise, the advertised rate for Oceanview was $850 +/-, when I put in our past passenger numbers - $579+/- big savings and great price we thought! We particularly like the Caribbean Princess and Crown Princess-lots of pools. We love the MUTS(I know, some people hate it). Also, we always can find quiet places that make us feel like we're the only ones on the ship. The kids club has also been great. We have a 3 year old and an 18 year old, so we've been through all the age groups.
