Venice arrival 10pm, disembark the next am

Recommended Posts

We are due to arrive in Venice at 10pm and then disembark the next morning. Does any one know if we can get off the ship that night at 10pm to stroll around? If so, is there a time that we must be back on the ship?

We will be on the Emeral Princess and have read reports that the ship get's in closer to 8pm (even though it lists 10pm on ours too). That should allow you plenty of time to have some sightseeing and take your obligatiory romantic gondola ride. We plan on being packed by noon and then enjoy the afternoon before the grand entrance into Venice. I'll bet your ship will arrive by 8pm also. Enjoy

We were on the Emerald in May and were supposed to arrive at 10PM also but were were going down the grand canel at 6PM when all the church bells were ringing. We were able to get off the ship at about 7:30. We had plenty of time to wander around. Most of the trip reports from Princess that I have read have the ships getting in well before 10PM.

Once the ship docks and clears local authorities, no matter what the time, you'll be able to get off the ship and come and go as you please. Surprised to hear that the ship docks in Venice so late. Be sure to stand on the open deck as you arrive and leave Venice. Very beautiful scenery all around you.

Thank you Keith, that is the answer I was looking for. It would be difficult to stay on the ship with Venice beckoning. We plan on staying there one night but the next day have to catch a morning flight back to NY. We want as much time in Venice as we can possibly squeeze in.
