Mariner, Eastern, port or starboard

We will be on the Mariner in February of 2008 in a regular balcony cabin. We are 2 adults and 1 16 yr old son. He has never been on eastern carib. and we have only been once. We have always gone on Western, like 10 times and are ready for something different even though we will have to fly to the port. We like to be in the middle of the ship and Right now I have a option of either side of the ship right in front of the hump. On this eastern tour which side would be best? We are going to San Juan, St Maarten and St Thomas from Port Canaveral. Thanks for your help.

Ok here is the deal. In San Juan you will most likely dock straight in, so the view of the harbor will be on the Port side. In St Thomas you will also most likely dock straight in, so the view will be on the port side...In St Marteen you will most likely dock with the front of the ship facing the open water, so backed in, but the port view will be of a mountain with some houses on it and a re fuel barge. I say go for the Port side, cause the view in St Thomas is pretty nice. :) HOPE this helps!

Wehn we were in ST. Thomas, the ships docked with the starboard (right) side to the land. We backed into the dock in San Juan, again, with the starboard side to the pier. The port side faced a Carnival ship!

You know, it really won't matter--you won't be sitting in your room while you're in port anyway! And, If you can't see what you want to from your balcony, go up to the pool deck! You 'll see everything from there!
