Russian River Cruise for Sept/Oct 2008

I am thinking about booking a Russian River cruise for Mid Sept to Mid Oct 2008. I am looking for information on the average temperature and rainfall during that time. If anyone has taken a Russian River cruise during mid September to mid October, How was the weather? Also are there any major Russian holidays during that time.

I would be interested in that too as we have already booked the Sept 3 sailing from St. Petersberg to Moscow. I would expect it to be fairly good weather, but cool.

If you are interested in the Fountains at Peterhof - you may want to not book past the end of September.

A few years ago I took this trip in mid September. The weather was pleseant (50-60 degrees)except for Kizhi whe is was very cold. It rained a little in St Petersburg but that was it.
