Meerjungfrau Posted September 1, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We are hoping to cruise on the PG in March. The cruise ends on a Saturday and I discovered that the only possible flight for us is at 0805 am. We have to leave Tahiti on that Saturday. Would we be able to disembark the ship really early in the morning?
missouri_girl Posted September 1, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 1, 2007 We were on the PG in March 2007. We did not take the early morning flight but I know several people who were on that flight. They left the ship around 4:30 AM. No problem. I would double check, though, with Regent just to make sure that the policy has not changed. vaitape Posted September 2, 2007 #4 Share Posted September 2, 2007 We usually fly Air France..better service and plus we don't while away the hours waiting for an overnight flight. Lots of to-ing and fro-ing with that. Since we book air with Regent and pay the deviation anyway as we go early and stay at our favorite hotel on Huahine or Moorea which aren't offered by Regent, we are satisfied and have our airport transfers taken care of by RSSC. We haven't left at 4:30 am.....ugh......way early. Instead, the AF flights we've taken on our 2 most recent cruises have left around 8:20 am or so and we've left the ship at around 5:30 am. Prepare yourselves though, the airport is a madhouse!!! As much as I love FP, I hate the lines and the true island-time approach to processing alot of people who are departing roughly at the same time. They need more counter agents and certainly waaaayyyyy more immigration officers. Oh well, c'est la vie........be sure to take some bottles of water as you disembark the ship...you will find them very refreshing when you're standing in line. Also, grab some pastries from La Palette before you go too. Anymore questions, please ask. Bon Voyage!
BethIRC Posted September 3, 2007 #5 Share Posted September 3, 2007 The ship actually arrives in Papette early evening on Friday so you getting to the airport is no problem for a Sat. morning flight. Do listen to the advise on getting there early as the airport is a zoo. Have a great trip!
