TNSTUD Posted September 11, 2007 #1 Share Posted September 11, 2007 Is there any places close to the port where a person could buy a Costa Rica rocking chair.
DEL67 Posted September 14, 2007 #2 Share Posted September 14, 2007 The only shopping at the port is a craft area and a few stores. When I was there in July, I saw wooden bowls and things, but nothing no rocking chairs or other furniture.

snorkelman Posted October 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2007 The stuff next to the pier is kind of like a flea market and they are mainly all selling the same stuff (think a small version of the Straw Market in Nassau). No rocking chairs when I was there last week. I saw some really nice cutting boards (bought one) and also some art painted on feathers (good prices). they have bowls and other stuff made from rosewood that are beautiful. I would not suggest leaving the pier area. It didn't look that safe (our tour drove though the downtown area outside the pier and I didn't see many tourists walking around, and I wouldn't waste my time doing so).
