Any suggestions what to do for the entire day in ft. lauderdale after the cruise? Our plane doesnt leave until 8pm!! We were actually looking for a resort or hotel that would let us use their facilties for the day or perhaps a beach with chair rentals, restaurants, changing facilties, etc? Any suggestions? We are a party of 9 with a 10 year old and two teens/////

Go to the Broadwalk (no, not boardwalk) on Hollywood Beach. It's awesome!

we enjoyed the everglades tour....it won't kill as much of the time you need but it was a cool excursion.

Did anyone get a picture of our celebrity who sang onboard the 12/1/07 sailing?

I was on the Miracle on the October 30-November 7 sailing. We also had a "celebrity" who sang onboard. It was Stevie Wonder. I 'wonder' if your celebrity was the same.....?

If you make your way down A1A there are plenty of restaruants and things like that. Try and look up the Yankee Clipper and see if they do things like what you want. They are right there on the beach and right next to them is some volleyball nets and things of that nature. Further down the beach is where all the restaurants are. Also, I believe the Jungle Queen sets sail right outside the clipper and you can get a good tour of Ft. Lauderdale on her. Also, if you want some great ice cream....check out Jaxon's. Give it a google...you wont be sorry.

When I cruised on the Miracle about three years ago, they had a one man band playing (mostly piano if I remember correctly) and singing behind the bar in the casino. He was really good and helped make for a lively and fun time in the casino. Just wondering if they still have entertainment behind the bar in the casino. Thanks in advance.

Well, that was fun! I'll try to write a review tomorrow. Will have to get DD to load our photos.

It was a great trip. I'm exhausted. Started getting depressed on Saturday knowing we only had one full day left!

Oh, and absolutely NO problems with motion sickness. Took a ginger capsule am & pm, and took Bonine the same. It was choppy when we left FLL, and we had 9' swells yesterday. Cruising sure is more fun when you don't have to deal with that queasy feeling.

Merry Christmas, my fellow Miracle lovers!

I hope your day is happy, healthy and safe.

NCT- I know you just got back, and I am waiting with baited breath for your review. Did you have a great time? Glad to hear you made it home safely, and enjoy your holidays! Hope to hear from you soon!! ;)

Yes there is a female voice calling off the deck when you arrive. It only gives the deck number though. So when it hits the lido on the Miracle it calls off "Deck 9"

Enjoy your cruise!!:D

I also missed the 'voice' telling me what deck I was on! Only the number but no "verandah' or 'lido' - I kinda got used to those on the other ships and was sorry it was not on the Miracle as well.

Hi! We're cruising on The Miracle 6/10/08 and are counting the days!! We have never been to NYC and will be driving from Michigan. We're going to arrive a day early to do the tourist thing. I was wondering if anyone has any advise about hotels in NYC. I did a post on another CC board regarding this and got some helpful info but I see a few of you here are from NY so I thought you might have some "insider" info as well. We will need 2 rooms (traveling with 5 of us). We had looked into Days Inn in North Bergen NJ as an option because it was reasonably priced, has free parking and offers shuttle into the city. Any advise/info/recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Hello there and welcome to NYC - in June, that is! Check out the following for the Skyline Hotel. I've always stayed there when cruising from NYC since the Sheraton across the street from the Passenger Ship Terminal was closed (ages ago!)and became the Chinese Embassy!

The rates have gone up quite a bit since the renovation, but its still the best place in the city as your launch pad for a cruise! And if you've never been to NY before, why even think about staying in New Jersey? Experience New York IN New York! I know it costs a bit more, but it'll "cost you" even more if you skimp on the entire Big Appple experience. And you may only get here once, so might as well go large...I know I sound like a marketing team for I Love NY, but I DO so love the City, and you will too if all the peices come together for you - and staying in in this area will give you access to so much of the city you won't know what to visit first.

Bon viaggio! ;)

Yeah it was a great impersonation of Stevie Wonder...

Anyone going on the next cruise you have to stop by the Karaoke and say hello to Marina... she rocks... Dude...

AND definately don't miss out on the guys in Frankie and Jonnies... unbelievable!!!

Still swaying slightly from the cruise... am waiting for NC's review too... it was nice to meet her in person... time after time after time after time... lol...

Music Manila - and they were talking to someone from our Roll Call (from San Diego) telling her they were going to the west coast. I heard her telling them they needed to get assigned to a ship out of San Diego. No idea when that might happen, though.

Yes, Larry the Piano guy is awful. He's leaving and Buster Freeze (who was in the lounge outside the dining room) is taking over, but he has a horrible voice, too.
