I just came back on 9/21. There was a thing they did at the end of the cruise were you had to tell what person was telling the truth. I can't remember what they called it. But don't miss this. They had the asst cruise director, buttercup, emcee it and the asst, asst cruise directors, hollywood (simon), sweet cheeks (justin) and someone from the technical group were the ones you had to figure out who was telling the truth. I laughed so hard (especially with hollywood). The cruise director is good, malcolm in the middle who always said whoo hoo, but he only was around at night at the shows. Also if you get up early in the morning on tv they have the morning show with malcolm and two other people (always different). It was fun to watch them because they seemed to have just woke up and they joked around.

No movie screen on deck. They did show a movie (liar liar) down in the mad hatters rooms one night. They also had three different movies on the tv in your room.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask. P.S. The food in the beginning of the cruise wasn't that great but the last three days the food improved for some reason.

My DH and I were on the Miracle 9/5. I think the food on this ship was the best I've had out of the 11 cruises I've been on. This was DH's second Carnival cruise. The first was on the Inspiration this past Jan. He swore after that one, he would never cruise again. He got talked into this one and he loved it. He found nothing, NOTHING, NOT one thing, to complain about, except it was over all too quickly. He is very particular about food and he didnt' complain about anything he ordered. We had a great time and he came home and was ready to book for next Sept. again. :D
Lucky me, I'm going back on the Miracle in Dec. with my girlfriends:p

I'm not sure I'm going to like that. I'm not addicted to TV and when I'm on a cruise, I rather like to get away from all that. Know what I mean?

I must say (and I pointed this out in my review of our 12/17/07 sailing) that I am also not a fan of sitting out in the Caribbean sun, having a cold adult beverage, and having to listen to Celine Dion Screams the Christmas Classics!

Sheesh! I'm in the Caribbean on a cruise. I don't want Christmas music! If it must be played, is it really necessary to pipe it out on the sun decks? I sit back there at the tables in the morning with my cup of tea and read, and I can't concentrate because of the blaring "background" music.

Oh wait! I have an aft balcony in December! I won't be subjected to any of that!

:D

Great to hear about the food. Ours wasn't so great last time. The beef was fairly inedible. I think it was just a poor shipment since I didn't read that in other reviews.
Does the Miracle have the Legends show or Guest Talent Show? Did you see it?

Thanks!
Legends show is always the last evening on board.

Last May, the guest talent show (which was a separate show) was the sixth night onboard. When we were on the Miracle a few months earlier, it was on the fourth night, so that one can vary. If you're interested in performing, they gave away some nice goodies to the participants in the guest talent show.
Just got back from 8 days on the Miracle this past Wednesday...any questions?
I have a question - did they sell Future Cruise Credits on Miracle?

You can book a future cruise right then or wait till you get home. You pay $100 which will be deducted from the balance (not deposit) you owe. BUT you also get $100 OBC.
I saw back in the summer that the Miracle had a Chocolate Buffet, do they still?
Yes, they had the chocolate buffet during the day...I think it was the last sea day......can't believe I forgot already!

They did the Legends Show on the last night and no, we didn't see it. It was at 10:30 and I wanted to get up at 5:00 to see the Statue of Liberty when we arrived back in New York.

Sorry, don't know anything about future cruise credits...guess I wasn't paying attention!

If money is an issue, we booked the balcony with the obstructed view (life boats are there). Perfect. I never was able to afford a balcony and it was worth it. I was in between the life boats so you could see all the way down if you wanted to but you also were able to see over the life boats out into the ocean when you were sitting down in the chair.

Our group of 4 women are leaving FLL on Oct 19, 2009. I have just a few questions if anyone can help.....Wondering if anyone has stayed in cabin 5248 or 5250, any details?? My last cruise was on Royal Grandeur & I took a case of water & just slapped a luggage tag on & no problems, have never done this on Carnival, anyone know if it'll fly? Also would like to pack a few diets & perhaps my new fav, a bottle of Smirnoff Tuscan lemonade. Should it go in carryon or suitcase? (we're staying at Hyatt Place North the night before, so can buy after flight) Comments on this hotel would be most welcome too. Cat 8B, do they have fridges? Any other tips wold sure be appreciated!! Thanks!

Havi...

there are always lots of threads about people wanting to carry on lots of water/soda.

I just drink the water from the buffet. It's filtered and cold and I've never had an issue with it. And I don't drink soft drinks so no need to deal with that. Thank goodness! Just getting my luggage and my carry-on bag sorted is enough for me to deal with! ;)

Searching takes a little practice and experimentation, but works well once you get the parameters right.

Can someone who has sailed recently tell me what was in the bathroom, as far as little amenities? It seems to vary from ship to ship, and probably varies pretty often on any given ship, depending on what they have available.

When I cruised Miracle, I intentionally didn't pack razors because they had always been in the bathroom. Well, of course there weren't any! All I did was leave a post-it note for the steward to ask if he could find some and there were two in the cabin later that day.

On an 8-day cruise, with an extra night pre-cruise, packing space is at such a premium that I don't want to take anything I absolutely don't need to take.

I was in 5176 with the life boat in front. Loved the room. It was very spacious. I put a case of water in my luggage (not the carryon) and it arrived with no problem. Glad I brought it because the water wasn't so good on the ship and I drink just about any water. On a previous carnival cruise we also brought 2 12 packs of soda and didn't have a problem. Our room did have a frig but it had all their expensive things in it and after the room steward saw there was an underage person in the room, it was immediately locked but we didn't care. There is so much food on that ship that you don't need to bring food back to the room.

Just got off the Miracle one week ago today. :( We had a Cat 8H and there was a fridge but it never got cold. We emptied out their cans of soda and beer and put ours in. We packed in our checked bags - a 12 pack of diet coke, 2-12 packs of Bud Light and a bottle (plastic) of Cosmopolitans...no problem. We had a little collapsible cooler and I asked the room steward to keep it full of ice and he did, so we stuck 3 or 4 cans of beer a day in it for our nightly cocktail hour on the balcony :o I thought the water on board was fine.

NCTribeFan - the only amenities were shampoo & shower gel in the shower and in a bowl on the sink was a razor, shampoo samples and pepcid AC samples. No lotions, cream rinse, mouthwash, etc....
