Ship tour while on a cruise?

RMS Olympic

Recommended Posts

Sailing on the PG departing Dec 1, cant wait.

In checking schedules it turns out the Mariner will be in port a couple of stops as well as tied up in Papeete at the same time as the PG.

Does anyone know if Regent will allow passengers from one ship to tour the other ship?

I realize in thesse days of security, visitors are not permitted, but fellow Regent passengers?

Just curious as the Mariner is the one ship of the line I have not yet sailed and would love to get a look see.

PG...warm up your welcome back sign...I'm a comi'in.

If the ships are docked they normally will allow it,

but in Tahiti the ships will be anchored except for Papeete.

I am not sure they will allow it then.

Few years ago we were on the Diamond and took our group of 6 couples on the Mariner. That was fun since we had just been on the Mariner so felt like tour guides.

DW and I will be on the Mariner while we are in Tahiti during the Paul Gauguin's Dec 1st cruise.

A few years ago, during the Mariner's first world cruise, we were on the Mariner at anchor in Polynesia while the Paul Gaugin was at anchor in the same port. A group of us was allowed to visit the PG. All that we had to do was to ask.

Last year I was on the Mariner... I forget where we were but both the Mariner and the PG were anchored cllose to each other. They ran a tender back and forth between the ships every hour so both groupls of passengers could visit each other's ship. My understanding was this was common when both ships are nearby for a perios of time.

The only problem is that once I get to see the Mariner, I will want to book her;) .....what is the cure to this addiction. .......cruise after cruise after cruise.:(

The only possible cure (medicine) is a Carnival cruise.......just the thought of the after taste.......

Well in the meantime......its the PG for me.:p
