Lately I've been seeing agencies offer an "Onboard Value Booklet" for certain HAL sailings. What is included in these coupon books? If they are two for one offers, it wouldn't help me since I'll be traveling solo.

Thanks for the link. Apparently there are two value booklets - this one was for $340 (alleged value) for cruises outside North/Central America. There is another one worth $140 (or so) for the cruises I was looking at. They probably are comparable in many ways - and not worth those values in my situation. Thanks again.

We have never gotten any of the booklets for anything and when I mentioned them to our TA - she checked -- we still will not be getting them on any of our future cruises.

Most of the items you are only getting something off the price, so you would really have to want to buy it to begin with to use the coupon. It's a promotion book to induce you to buy.

I just added up the stated value of things I know I could do/use - $57 of the $340. I think I'd rather have a $57 OBC.

I know what you mean. You might be able to use something, but would you have bought it without the coupon that made it look like a value of sorts? Maybe yes, maybe no. Of course that is the point of the booklet- to get you to buy what you might not have bought without the coupon and HAL is still making a profit. :)
