What time are the shows?

Recommended Posts

We will have late seating for dinner on our upcoming cruise. Will we miss the evening shows? I really don't like the idea of going before dinner but I guess if that is our only option we will do it.

Besides the show, what else goes on after dinner?

The shows for late seating were 7:15 nightly on our Alaska cruise except for two nights where there was only one show for early and late seating.

After the 9pm show (for main seating) there is plenty to do onboard the ship, Karaoke, Love & Marriage Game, The Quest, Piano player in Schooner Lounge, Music in either the Centrum or up in the Hollywood Odyssey and don't forget the Casino:p ...There was also a late night adult only comedian...Have fun on your cruise...Later, Jill:cool:

2nd seating goes to the shows prior to dinner--main seating goes after. There are a couple of "adult" shows that will be AFTER all of the dinner seatings.

By now, cb, you know that not all 2nd seating shows are before dinner. In fact the mix is about even, with pre-dinner shows on nights when something like Quest or the Love and Marriage games is scheduled for all guests, and post dinner shows on the other nights. We found the same set up on Celebrity on our recently completed transatlantic on the Constellation.

There are some evenings when by the end of dinner I am looking forward to sitting in the theater, no matter how entertaining the show may be. Since the ships generally leave port before 6pm, it really isn't inconvenient to go to the show before we dine, but if it is, the option is always available to skip the show entirely.:)

This is what we encountered on the Explorer two years ago.

On our 7 night Radiance to Alaska the first night show was after late seating. I believe there was one other night that the show was after dinner. The other nights the shows were before dinner. It really worked out well, because after dinner you were able do something else after dinner. We always enjoyed the Schooner bar and the piano player. Kieron the crusie director even did a show there one night.

Alaska is very port intensive, so it was nice to have the show early. We could get to bed at a decent time and be up early to go on an excursion. We didn't feel like we were missing anything. Enjoy your cruise.
