Ykgorbie Posted October 6, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2007 Can anyone tell me which hotels are nearby the Cruise Ship Terminal in Fort Lauderdale? (or should we be thinking of staying somewhere else)?
kaiiak Posted October 6, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2007 There are tons of hotels in the area. One of the closest is a Hyatt. You can see the ship outside your window. It is a 5 minute cab ride to the port. I got it on Priceline a few years ago for much less than the quoted price. If you are looking for more of a resort The Harbor Marriott Beach Resort was really nice - also got it on priceline for literally more than 50% less. Hope this helps!!! NCTribeFan Posted October 6, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 6, 2007 Check the East Coast Departures board. Tons of info there with lots of hotel and restaurant recommendations.

thepeach Posted October 7, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 7, 2007 Can anyone tell me which hotels are nearby the Cruise Ship Terminal in Fort Lauderdale? (or should we be thinking of staying somewhere else)? We just stayed at the Amerisuites (under construction, changing to a Hyatt Place) last Friday for our cruise on the Liberty on 9/29. They pick you up for free from the airport, deliver you to the port for free, will take you and pick you up at the water taxi stop for free. The hotel is located between the airport and the port, about 3 miles from each. There is a large shopping plaza a block away with a Publix supermarket, lots of stores, and some restaurants nearby. The hotel staff was extremely nice, and the rooms are absolutely beautiful with mini kitchens. There is no smoking in the rooms, and if you do smoke, you will be fined $200. We plan to stay there again on our next cruise next April. We paid $79 a night, and it also included breakfast.

megr1125 Posted October 7, 2007 #9 Share Posted October 7, 2007 another option is the renaissance on 17th..you can see the ships (at least a portion thereof) from some of the rooms... http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/fllbr-renaissance-fort-lauderdale-hotel/ i stayed there a few times and was very pleased overall....had a few little issues regarding restaurant service (sometimes not so good) but overall it was decent...it's a AAA 4 diamond hotel..i would give it a solid 3 and a half.... plenty of things around, you can flag down the sun trolley thur-sun to get to publix or the beach area (50 cents per person per ride) or you can walk to publix, restaurants, liquor store, and even a laundromat if necessary...
