Bilyeu5 Posted October 7, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 7, 2007 I know that HAL and Princess have good educational talks for Alaskan cruises. Does Celebrity have the same? I'm not interested in talks that are only about shopping opportunities!
Rare uktog Posted October 7, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 7, 2007 On our Alaska trip we had talks by a great engaging naturalist Brent Nixon. Some people think his approach is more aimed at young adults than academics. I found him great and his way of describing things really helped such that I still remember items 2 years after we came off Infinity A
dcintheam Posted October 7, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 7, 2007 I second that, his talks were phenominal! With each successive talk the audience grew. He has a great passion for his work and it shows in his talks. After his first talk, I made sure not to miss any others. I think his approach toward speaking is to reach everyone, he is very enthusiatic and full of energy. I did take a Panama Canal cruise and was really looking forward to the speaker, and I was very dissappointed. She was very monotone and took a subject that was very interesting and made it boring. Loved Brent, thoroughly enjoyed his talks. C
lola's mom Posted October 8, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Albeit a little HYPER - Brent Nixon's talks were very educational. I think he was trying to imitate Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. Gets on your nerves after a while - but darn informative!
Happy Cruiser 6143 Posted October 8, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 8, 2007 Brent Nixon's talks were great! He also came along on our whale watch with Captain Larry and coached us on when to press the shutter to get great tail shots. He was one of the highlights of the cruise.
