Which Mariott Property in Newark

We will be using Mariott Rewards for a one night stay before the cruise. We will not have time to go into New York, so the most imortant features for us are airport shuttle and transfer to Cape Liberty.

Since I have not found any information on shuttle busses from Mariott Hotels to the ship, I think we will need a taxi. Are they all the same taxi fare away from the port?

Also, I have heard about a giant mall close to EWR airport. Does anyone know a Mariott owned hotel that has airport shuttle and is close to this mall?

Any help would be appreciated

I will have about $75 from mypoints next Janaury and I think I am staying here... http://www.marriott.com/hotels/travel/ewreb-residence-inn-newark-elizabeth-liberty-international-airport

Its close to the mall and provides breakfast. No shuttle but taxi should run about $50.

that above mentioned residence inn and the courtyard next to it are the closest...the address is Glimcher Realty Way....across the street/parking lot from www.jerseygardens.com outlet mall...cab and/or car service was $40 when i used it...so something close (40-50 to allow for price changes),...i say car service because i asked the hotel to call cab to get to the pier and it was actually a town car...it was the same price!

none of the marriott properties have a shuttle to the pier but all have airport shuttles...the closest to the airport is the Newark Airport Marriott....

Try the Residence Inn at 83 Glimcher Realty Way in Elizabeth, N.J. It is a Marriott hotel, and is located across the street and just a short walk from the Jersey Gardens mall. The hotel also offers a complimentary shuttle to and from the airport.

The Jersey Gardens mall is an outlet center that can offer some good deals. There are no large department stores here, and it can get a bit crowded on weekends (but I've never been there when it was unbearably crowded).

To the port at Cape Liberty it is a short distance across Newark Bay, but you'll need to go north to get to the bridge over the bay before heading back south again in Bayonne. You will probably want to use a taxi since there is no longer any convenient public transportation across the bay (many years ago the Central Railroad of New Jersey could have taken you from Elizabeth to Bayonne, but today you have to go by New Jersey Transit bus from Elizabeth to Newark, then PATH train to Jersey City, then light rail to Bayonne, then taxi to the port).
