Rare Tom O. Posted October 16, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2007 I am going on a cruise soon on the Oosterdam. I was thinking of bringing a sack of coins to play the slots. I just need to know if I can actually put coins into the slots instead of tokens. It's a psychological thing - this is change that I have thown into a jar for the last few months, and I won't mind if I loose it all. Once it is gone, I stop gambling. I'm not much of a gambler and I will feel guilty if I start spending greenbacks in the casino, so if there is no way to put my coins in the machines, I just won't gamble. kakalina Posted October 16, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2007 The only actual coins you can use are nickles. The quarters are tokens.

A couple of exceptions are the nickel slots and the machines that push coins forward until they drop off the front edge.
RuthC Posted October 16, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Do you seriously mean to take the money in change? That's so heavy to carry. Convert it to bills, then change it back to coin when you're on the ship.
JimVrhovac Posted October 16, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Tokens are not always interchangable between ships. Have noted that R & S class ship tokens do not match Vista class tokens. Do not know if this issue has been reslved by HAL. Ruth & Jim
Rare Tom O. Posted October 16, 2007 Author #6 Share Posted October 16, 2007 Thank you for the replies. It looks like it will be ok if I only bring nickles. As for being heavy, yes this is true, but I will be driving to the pier, so it isn't that difficult.

At least you'll get something for it. :D
