Ocean Players Club - Perks?

Mickey Mommy

Recommended Posts

I received a letter from the Ocean Players' Club before my last cruise and in my cabin when I boarded was a coupon for $15 off any photo, and a letter giving me a $5 free table play and a free drink in the casino. Later that evening, a plate of chocolate covered strawberries was delivered to my cabin. Also, on the next to last night of the cruise, I received a free bottle of wine compliments of the casino.

I will definitely be letting them know about my next cruise.

Just got my response today from OPC. It also took about a week for the resonse. I am thrilled this will be the first time we did this. Hope we get the strawberries and other perks. I also have a 45 day letter but to soon to call on that one yet. I say I'll take anything they want to give me lol. :)

OK, I'm still getting conflicting answers.

One person says "there is no OPC card" and another says they received their card and used it in the slots.

I've always just used my S&S card. No one has come over to me. I still have no idea what a casino host looks like.

I told them I was sailing again and it's been nearly 3 weeks and I've heard nothing this time.

I know what the confirmation emails says. I received one prior to my LAST cruise.

Can anyone clear up my confusion?

The ocean players club site states that the cards are not issued as of yet... SO unless something changed recently, you still use your S & S card. As for the casino host, if there is not a photo of them posted, ask someone who works in the casino...then go up and introduce yourself!!!

Also, if you have not received your email, register again!!! It can't hurt!!!

Enjoy your cruise

NCTribe..........The OPC card OR the Sign & Sail can be used to get your credits when playing the slots. I did get an OPC card on my last cruise. I went to the Cashier and asked for it, but you don't need one. Hope that helps. :)

Thank you. Yes, that helps.

I just had never seen a OPC card. I had never used my S&S card until my Elation cruise, because I thought that meant you were taking funds against your credit card and I didn't want the service charge. Now, I feed in a large denomination bill and just put it on my card and play that until it's gone (which is usually much more quickly than I would hope).

If I find myself up, I cash out, take the winnings and stash it, and start over the next night with that night's allotment.

I guess I'll contact them again about my Glory sailing, since I haven't heard back. Can't hurt! Maybe I'll get EIGHT strawberries!

:p

Last year I sailed on the Liberty and e-mailed the OPC to let them know I was sailing again. I received the wonderful chocolate covered strawberries and had room decorations and free drinks in the casino. This year I e-mailed them that I was sailing again but on Princess Crown. They welcomed me back and said to have a wonderful time in the casino and looking forward to seeing me again. What a great disappointment. Nothing...... I asked the casino host and she stated that she didn't know anything about a OPC member sailing again. The OPC is supposed to be on all Carnival and most Princess ships but I can tell you the difference is unbelievable. I called them when I got home and they were quite upset about the treatment. I asked if it was because it was Princess and not Carnival and they stated that NO there should be no differences. Well I'm sailing with Carnival again next year and hope to have all the benefits again from the OPC.

Last year I emailed the host before my cruise on the Fascination and my 2 cruises on the Liberty. On the Fascination and first Liberty cruise my stateroom was decorated and I received a fruit basket. On my second Liberty cruise, nothing.

I signed on to the OPC website and saw the Bring A Buddy promo, I emailed them with my info and my friends booking info. I got an email back today with a $50 casino credit. I will also send an email later this summer just to let the casino host on the Legend know that we will be sailing. I did this before our Elation cruise 1 1/2 yrs ago and got an email that said come see me when the casino opens after sailing. I went and found the casino host and she gave me a $10 credit and free drinks. It never hurts to check in with the person in charge!:D

I have a cruise coming up next month, as well as one for April of 2009. I contacted the Ocean Players Club about the "Bring a Buddy" program for next year, since there are four additional cabins booked for family members. My husband and I will be getting $200.00 in the casino! Not too shabby.

For the cruise next month, I was told we would be on the "Guest List". I have no idea if we'll receive any gifts for that or not, but I'll keep my fingers crossed.

We'll emailed the OPC that we were sailing again on our cruise this past January. We got the chocolate covered strawberries, but they came with a note that they were from Carnival saying "Thanks for sailing with us again".

Our son and DIL, whom also sailed with us, and had contacted OPC before sailing, got the photo coupon. They said it was from OPC.

Thanks to this thread we contacted OPC and they added us onto the guest list for our upcoming cruise. Plus, they told us to see the cashier with our photo ID and we will be given a $50 credit towards coins or chips.

Thanks everyone!

25 days and counting!!

Be sure to bring the email from the OPC stating they are giving you the casino credit....twice I've had to produce the email because they never received word that I was to get a casino credit. The 1st time it happened they flat out said they'd never heard of such a thing and tried to get away with offering me a bottle of wine instead of the $100 credit. Once I produced the email and they verified it with the OPC person who had sent it, they were pleasant as could be. Now I print out emails verifying everything!
