bobbi3 Posted October 18, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 18, 2007 This is our second cruise, first cruise was a med. cruise there were exactly 2 kids on the ship. This year we're doing the Freedom during thanksgiving........I'm already experiencing some anxiety just thinking about all the kids at the pooL! Should I be stressed??
Sue L Posted October 18, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 18, 2007 There will be a lot more than 2 kids  but in my experience RCCL keeps them pretty well occupied. I suspect Thanksgiving is not as big a cruise week as x-mas is, though I have nothing to back it up!!!:p
crusinmama06 Posted October 18, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Yes there will be a HUGE amount of kids. You are going on one of the 2 MOST family friendly ships on the sea (Liberty being the other one) ;) But, your one saving grace is the adult only solarium. (The staff guard it from kids like a pack of wild hyenas...lol) Do late seating, Chops/Portofino, Solarium, Soalrium hot tubs, the casino and you will never see them. :D
rbp4cruise Posted October 18, 2007 #4 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Enjoy your cruise.:) Don't stress over the kids.
pmshirl Posted October 18, 2007 #5 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Just came off the Freedom, Oct14th and there weren't many kids. I would take a guess of 100 kids. The teen room had 7 teens in it. Since it wasn't a Holiday week, that may be the reason why. I was on the Liberty in June 07 and we had tons (over 1200) kids. Good Luck and don't sweat the small stuff, kids are people too! cb at sea Posted October 18, 2007 #6 Share Posted October 18, 2007 Whenever you sail over a holiday (or even close to it!) there will be kids! Don't worry--RCI does a great job of keeping them busy and out of your hair! yes--there will be tons at the pool, but unless you feel a need to sit within 10 feet of the pool, you can escape the madness by going up one deck! There will be few kids up there and you can still "strut your stuff" when you need to take a dip! It's not a big deal to walk down the stairs, get wet, then head back to your kid-free lounge chair! Yes, you can go to the Solarium, but it will stay pretty well packed. It's easier to go to one of the upper forward decks to sun!
emdia43 Posted October 18, 2007 #7 Share Posted October 18, 2007 You won't see much of them at the pools anyway- the Freedom has the H2O zone, all the kids stay over there. I would like to go there myself. Fabulous ship.:D
