PFV Posted October 31, 2007 #1 Share Posted October 31, 2007 We are sailing next May on Carnival Miracle. A dear friend is coming from the UK a day early and we are planning a precruise overnight. I think she would like to see the South Street Seaport area, as w've done the midtown scene before. Its been a good many years since I've been down that way. My question is I see a Marriott and Hilton in the AAA guide in the Wall street area. It doesn't appear to be to far a walk over to the Seaport? I also thought I saw a Best Western near the seaport? I would appreciate any recomendations Thanks Paul
BlueHerons Posted October 31, 2007 #2 Share Posted October 31, 2007 The Exchange Hotel and The Best Western are both very close to South Street Seaport. The Exchange Hotel is much nicer than the Best Western but I'd stay in either again. A great guide with freebies for the Financial District is www.DowntownNY.com Free guides, transportation, walking tours, etc. It is my absolute favorite part of Manhattan. Another great all suite hotel downtown is the Club Quarters.
BlueHerons Posted October 31, 2007 #3 Share Posted October 31, 2007 The Exchange Hotel http://www.exchangehotel.com/ Club Quarters Downtown http://www.clubquarters.com/home_pub.asp At the Club Quarters, you must be a member to stay there but email them and you can get around that requirement. I've done it a couple of times and the downtown location is excellent right around the corner from Wall Street and the New York Stock Exchange. It is very impressive.
