ShanteS Posted December 4, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2007 I did and I feel like the luckiest girl. :) I met my current BF on the Carnival Destiny this past August. Just as I was about to give up on men and accept being single for a veryyyy long time, I found him and he's such a wonderful breath of fresh air. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone else found their significant other on a cruise or if they "rekindled" something while on a cruise. Share your stories/experiences here, I'd love to read them. I did, but it wasn't of the human kind. And it was two of them. Their names were Dori and Belle, my dolphins in Cozumel on my excursion. I fell in love with them. BUT, they don't keep in touch the way I thought they would ;) Okay, off topic, now the thread may proceed. :D
LHP Posted December 4, 2007 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2007 I found a different kind of "love" as well. The love of friendship on the Fantasy when I met a wonderful couple who are very much in love...but she was working on the Fantasy and he was in Kosovo. He was trying to find a way to send her some flowers for Valentine's Day. Sounds simple, but from Kosovo...it is not so easy. So a total stranger (me) who happened to be going on the Fantasy in a couple of weeks took a chance. We surprised one lovely young lady in the casino with not only flowers...but roses, candy and a love note from her boyfriend in Kosovo. She was so shocked and so touched. It was definately a moment in life where I got a lot more than I gave. Made a friend !!

toledo Posted December 5, 2007 #10 Share Posted December 5, 2007 Here is an entry from our Victory roll call two years ago. We were all so shocked and we didn't know how to respond. Hey all, The victory was fabulous and life changing for myself. I went to the atrium bar, but didn't see anyone wearing any duct tape. It would have been interesting to see you all, and I am sure we crossed paths at some point. As far as the life changing part. I left for this cruise as a married woman. I do not travel w/my husband as he and I don't share common interests. Upon arrival on the ship I noted that we were assigned 8:30 dinner seating in the Atlantic dining room. That was way too late so I asked to be changed. We were switched to the 5:45 in the Pacific. Upon arriving to our assigned table at the Pacific the first night, we noticed that the table was full. After some quick switches, we were assigned to another table that happened to have three seats left at it. This is where the life changing part happens. At this table was a young single dad and his two daughters. Well needless to say we hit things off well. We spent a lot of time together and became very connected. I know, yes I was still married, and I wasn't looking for anything to come my way, but when the Lord decides it is time to bless you with something wonderful, you take it and run with it. After arriving home I did some snooping in my home PC and found that my spouse hadn't necessarily been faithful to me, dating back as far as 2003. So I departed 3/26 as a married woman from Maine, Here it is 4/6 and I have filed for divorce, and I leave for Tennessee tomorrow for a short stay to see where my new home may be. Who would have known that so much could happen in such a short amount of time. The Lord works in miraculous ways. Bless you all who shared such a wonderful and perfect vacation. Talk to you later. How do you respond to that? I don't think I would have been "proud" as she was about what she'd done. No, I know I wouldn't have. It's amazing what people will put on the internet. After 26 years of marriage, I thought I'd heard it all. Obviously not. ShanteS, I'm glad you met someone.

henepup Posted December 5, 2007 #18 Share Posted December 5, 2007 So several years ago, my family went on a cruise, 10 of us. My uncle went to Cha-Cha dance class, and met a woman. She was from SC and us from KY. Well as the week went on, he fell in love. Three days after we got home he flew to SC to be with her. Two months later she was living her in KY. Two months later they got married!!! Two years later they filed for divorce. We all called it the "Caribbean Lottery". You never know what you are going to get!!LOL So everytime we take someone who is single, we tell them...You might hit the "Caribbean Lottery". toledo Posted December 5, 2007 #20 Share Posted December 5, 2007 I searched under CruisinMominMaine and she had some posts a year later. She was asking about cruises for her and her boyfriend and mentioned she was from Tennesee. Maybe she changed her screen name after that (she really should have.) mom2NnB Posted December 5, 2007 #24 Share Posted December 5, 2007 so I guess we'll have to see where he ends up if we are on the same ship again. Not planning on booking a specific cruise just for Karl, but if he end up there all the better.
