carnival pride - category 5A (french doors)

We had a 5A on the Spirit which is the same layout as the Pride. We booked an inside room and were upgraded to the 5A. The doors did open to a railing that stares into the lifeboats. If you are lucky enough to get a cabin in between the lifeboats you will have a tiny view. A great deal if you are paying for an inside room and getting upgraded! We have the same type of room booked for our Mar cruise on the Pride. Do a search for the 5a's cabins. There are pictures of these 5a cabins out there on the boards.

Cat 5a with French doors are the cabins we usually get upgraded too, had 2 cabins on the Pride, 4140 and 4146, these have a Lifeboat right outside of them and thats why they are obstructed cabins. Great Cabin with lots of daylight but no views.

We had 5a on the Spirit in Nov. , doors opened. No view, but cool anyway. My DD got lucky with a little view in between. Be careful coming out of the shower if the drapes are open, sometimes the workers are all over the lifeboats like bees.

Fred, Iv read you can open the windows somewhat for fresh air, then read that they didnt let you open them. Can you or not now? Or was that a one time thing where they could not be opened?

Yes those doors or at least one of them can be opened, we did once and got a wiff of davit wire grease and had to close it.

We had cabin 4194 (I think???) and it was really neat. We could see a little between the boats and to the side.

Just remember to keep the curtains closed when privacy is needed because the maintenance crew does walk around those catwalks!!!
