I don't understand, why they called for help...

These ships are totally equ. with everything they need to do this surgery...

I was on this cruise as well. It was so reassuring to see the rescue and later hear that the young lady was doing well. What stories she will have to tell. Since my husband is retired Navy he said she was probably treated like the belle of the ball on board the USS Ronald Reagan.

 

A hearty cheer to our navy and the staff on the Dawn.

I do not believe that the ship is equipped for anything more than minor surgery. This was major surgery.

 

Believe me, I speak from experience, the Ronald Reagan is so much better equipped for this than the Princess ship. She was transferred to a FULLY EQUIPPED HOSPITAL.

 

If it were you daughter, would you want anything less? I certainly would not.

The mother could not go because of weight restrictions due to the amount of fuel necessary to make the two hour round trip. EM

Did anyone on this board who was a witness to this amazing event take any pictures of the rescue helicopters from the Dawn's viewpoint? I'd love to see some!

I have 1 picture. It was taken from far away, you can barely make out that is a helo. The ship's staff got everyone out of their rooms around the top 2 floors on the back end and closed off the outside decks. Even the outside decks on Deck 7. They didn't want anyone outside in case something went wrong.
