dewhit6959 Posted September 10, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 10, 2004 I read in one of the posts that the Princess island is in close proximity to Half Moon Cay. If that is so, would it be reasonable to assume that Princess and possibly Carnival will be using HMC as a port call to make up for the loss of other ports on their itenararies? Would I need to check their sites to tell how many ships would be at HMC when the Maasdam arrives?
sail7seas Posted September 10, 2004 #2 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Don't know but seeing as HAL's fleet keeps growing and there often are two HAL ships at HMC together.....it doesn't seem there would be many available days when there would be room to share at least during the winter months. I would be surprised to find a Princess ship at HMC. There has been a Carnival ship or two that has used the island but I think it was only during the summer (?) and not when an HAL ship was there. Krazy Kruizers Posted September 10, 2004 #3 Share Posted September 10, 2004 Princess Cays isn't to be operational for at least 6 weeks - more damage than HMC. Right now there aren't many ships in the Caribbean as most are still in Alaska and won't be doing their repositioning cruises for 2 more weeks. SO - there is the possibility that another ship could use HMC. In the winter and spring of 2002, Carnival did use HMC on a few of their cruises - not many - and not when a HAL ship was there.
