Any tips on keeping the new luggage tags on suitcases?

I don't know if they're still giving the 'old style' tags out at the pier, but my paper docs included tags that needed to be reinforced. They just tore out from the doc booklet.

They are on a bit sturdier stock than regular paper, but I threw them in some 3M Pouches anyhow. My Dad is a 3M retiree with a stockpile of 3M products, legitimately obtained, of course. ;) I just had to swipe some from him! :)

Always, ALWAYS put a luggage tag on each piece (as well as inside) that gives your destination and a phone number.

For instance, if we were flying to the port the tag would be:

DESTINATION;: Carnival Spirit, SanDiego, Dec. 24 Booking # XXXXXX

or if flying to a city:

DESTINATION: ORD, American Airlines, cell phone # xxxxxxx

If all else fails, go to the Scottsboro, AL Lost Luggage Store. :-)

I type out a paper including our itinerary, flight numbers and airline, cell number, and such and put it in the front pocket of each suitcase. On the tag with our name and address, I write "itinerary enclosed in outer pocket" so they know where to look if needed.
