jumelle Posted December 27, 2007 #1 Share Posted December 27, 2007 Any suggestions for a nice beach in Barbados. Will Boatyard be too crowded. Is Boatyard part of Carlisle Bay? Looking for something not too far from port.
Aplmac Posted December 27, 2007 #2 Share Posted December 27, 2007 Any suggestions for a nice beach in Barbados. Will Boatyard be too crowded. ===> Kinda likely..yes. Is Boatyard part of Carlisle Bay? ===> Yes. Looking for something not too far from port. Hilton's at one end of Carlisle Bay: they do a day-pass thing but you need to ring ahead to see if they can take you. Their number is 426-0200 Lobster Alive is right next door to Boatyard - on Carlisle Bay and if you like the idea of a lobster or other seafood lunch then this is definitely The Place. Going the other way, you might take a taxi to Malibu Beach Bar or to Weisers, both on Brighton/Brandons Beach. Reason I suggest a cab, despite the short distance is that the route from the Port to Brighton Beach is deceptively disorienting and it's a walk thru ugly docklands type architecture. onceagain Posted January 2, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 2, 2008 We were at Boatyard a couple years ago and just loved it. We'll definitely go again in Jan. 09 when we are there. It's a very short taxi ride from the ship. Admission is minimal, maybe $10-15 per person, which includes a coupon for a drink of some food. There are loads of water toys included in the price, huge water trampoline, rock climbing wall in the water, kayaks, rope to jump from the pier, etc. We got there very early so got chairs right up close to the water and an umbrella. We were near the outside bar/restaurant. If you go, you won't be disappointed.
