Anyone visit Sheraton or Wyndham lately?

We will be visiting off of the Triumph the second week in January and noticed there wasn't much talk of the Sheraton or Wyndam lately?

Has anyone visited these facilities recently. Are they still offering day passes for $15. Also, is there a casino at both places?

We went to the Wyndam in early November. We took the #10 Jitney. We were dropped off across the street. We entered the lobby purchased the 15.00 wristband. Went downstairs and out to the pool deck got towels and walked out to the beach. It was very nice. Thje pool is huge with a waterslide and not crowed at all. The beach is somewhat small. A small cove to swim in. Hammocks and lots of chairs. You can order drinks and food there. They have vendors for snorkeling at the off shore reef. They have patrol officers checking wristbands. You can walk over to the Sheraton and they had a better beach area. We would def. do it again.

The $15 kills me. That is so much just to use the beach and pool.

I read the Sheraton Beach Resort is FREE. It also stated it was a better pool.

Going in January 5th...very soon. Trying to decide which hotel to go to. My last pool was when I was in Mexico. We dock, I found a pool, walked in, ordered food and they left us alone.

Great day.

I wouldn't plan on it! When we walked over there they were checking wristbands there too.

Both properties are supposed to charge $15 pp.

Some staff is just lax.

And quite frankly, I don't see this being an unfair price. They clean and maintain the beaches and pools, pay life guards and servers, maintain chaise lounger and keep clean towels and bathrooms. I think it's pretty cheap.

If you want a free beach, go to one of the open public beaches along Junkanoo Beach or at Goodmans Bay. No chaises, no lifeguards, coral and glass to step on, no bar or grill and no restrooms. But it's free.

Or at Paradise Island Cabbage Beach.. where you can rent a chaise for $10 - with no other amenities and no restrooms/ bar or food service.

the sheraton pool is wonderful!!. a great design and waterfall.. 15.00 is a small fee to pay to use the great facilities there.. if you just want to lay your towel on the sand and use the beach its free... but to use the facilities of our lucaya,, rest rooms, pools, etc.. and sometimes they have live music and organized games for the kids then pay the 15 and enjoy!!

Plan on going to the Wyndham in April while docked in Nassau. Last time, we just walked straight out to the beach... no wristbands. But, of course, if we need wristbands this time, we will get them. Where do you get them from? :)

We went to the desk in the lobby at the Wyndam.... 15.00 includes use of all facilities, towels and floats for pool. When we were there the guards were walking around the pool and the beach both at the Sheraton and Wyndam. They did approach a large group that was tryong to make arrangements for snorkeling and they had to go in and purchase the wristbands.

Thanks for all of the replies, I will be there on Jan 5 as well and we do plan to purchase the wristbands.

I am assuming you can just walk back and forth from the Wyndham to the Sheraton... is this correct?

I don't mind the $15 fee either. It's really a bargain if you think about it. If you don't use the facilities I can see that the $15 might seem steep, but I intend to take full advantage of the pools, chairs, towels, etc.

The Sheraton and Wydham are on Cable Beach, right? Is that right next to Cabbage Beach? I would also be interested in a massage if they do those on the beach or in the pool area. Does anyone know if they have jet ski rentals on the beach or nearby? If so, sounds perfect. $15 pp sure beats Atlantis!

Cable Beach is on the main island west of downtown Nassau (port). Cabbage Beach is on Paradise Island, across the harbour near Atlantis.

They are each about 15 minutes from port in opposite directions.

Not sure about the beach massage.

I've seen someone on Cabbage beach giving a massage.. but it looked to shady for me.

Jet Ski's are available for rent on the nearby beaches. You'll see them from either beach. Prices run from $45-80 per 1/2 hour. Depending on the time of day and your negotiating skills.

Okay Scubagirl and others..good point. Now I am educated, I understand.

thank you for the education. The way you put it makes real sense now.

Thanks and see you at the Wyndham..two days left to go.

Is it best to buy the wrist band at the Sheraton or the Wyndham?

Can the same wrist band be used at both?

Also, is Our Lucaya a separate resort (A Westin) and how is that?

We tried Junkanoo, the public beach mentions by scuba girl and she is right, that it is not that nice. It is in a run down neighborhood and local guys were trying to talk to and get my 20 year old daughter's attention. It was just the two of us and we were uncomfortable and moved our towels closer to some other cruise passengers who came later.

Hello! I just wanted to be sure you understood that the Sheraton Cable Beach is on Nassau and the Sheraton and Westin that are part of the Lucaya resort are on Grand Bahama island....two different islands. I'm interested to hearing how the Lucaya resorts are too! ;)

Thanks, I didn't realize that.

If another island, posts are stating the $1 jitney will take you to the Westin?

Now I am more confused than ever!

Actually the poster said the Jitney takes you to the WYNDHAM. Wyndham and Sheraton Cable Beach are on Nassau :)

the Westin and Sheraton Lucaya properties are on Grand Bahama Island.

Our cruise is going to both places in the Bahamas which is the only reason I know of the difference! :D

Does the Westin (Our Lucaya) also offer wristbands, etc. for we cruise passengers? We plan to take advantage of this at the Wyndam or Sheraton in Nassau, but were unsure of what to do when we stop in Freeport. We're leaving in 5 days...gasp...! Any info. on Freeport would be much appreciated, as it's a new port for us.

Quick question, we will be in port in march, should we have a problem getting day passes at either place. There will be 4 or us(2 adults and 2 kids). This sounds like the best thing to do while we are there. Only going to be in port for part of the day.

We were there just last Wednesday, here is what we know. First of all, it was an enjoyable day and the resorts were great! We would do this again.

Get your day passes (wristbands) at the Wyndham reception desk. You will have no problem getting 4 passes. The passes are $15 each, cash. Get your towels at the Wyndham pool. Give them your ship and cabin number. Sheraton has the better pool and beach but they will not provide you a towel. They made us go back to the Wyndham. The pass is good for both resorts.:)
