Room Service Costs?

Our first cruise is coming up, so we are pretty green. We're not sure exactly what costs are covered and what are not. For instance, if you order room service at meal times (dinner or breakfast) is there an extra charge for this? If you order, say, a coffee and snack/fruit etc., outside of meal hours, are you charged for that or is it all included in the cost of the cruise. Thanks for any info.

There is no cost for anything listed, except the tip you are expected to give the crew member who delivers it. You can order at any time, but should expect delivery time to be longer around meal times.

 

If you are in a full suite, you can order from the dining room menus.

The only cost on the Dawn Princess (except for specialty) was the Pizza from La Scala, a $3.00 charge plus tip.

There is a charge for pizza delivered to your cabin. There is no charge (except tip) for anything else from room service.

 

Note the room service menu is limited. It is not the full menu in the dining room. For breakfast, you can get a continental breakfast. 24 hours a day, they have burgers, salads and sandwiches.

Any beverages that normall have a fee like coke will also be charged.

I agree with everyone else:) . We start saving one dollar bills a few weeks before a cruise for tipping for baggage & room service, extra ice etc. Have fun!!

I was on the Dawn Princess in 2006 and La Scala was great, a nice reprieve from the dining room when you wanted to eat something lighter and or later.

I believe the charge is to have a pizza delivered to your room,..no extra charge for eating in the restaurant.

Tintown - Princess buffet's are close to 24 hours a day. You can also bring something back to your room for a snack.

My favorite snack to snag from the buffet is the leftover tea cookies & mini sandwichs that they bring to the buffet after tea is over...very good.
