sharbin1 Posted February 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 8, 2008 We're thinking of taking this narrow gauge railway tour while we're in Holyhead in September. Have you done this? What did you think?
sddsddean Posted February 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 8, 2008 Great way to see some beautiful countryside... and all built for the long gone slate industry. http://www.ffestiniograilway.co.uk/ Simon
sharbin1 Posted February 8, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted February 8, 2008 Thanks for the link, Simon. Looks really interesting and we do want to see as much of the countryside as we can in such a short time.
Kindlychap Posted February 10, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 10, 2008 Thanks for the link, Simon. Looks really interesting and we do want to see as much of the countryside as we can in such a short time. I'll second the poster who said it was worthwhile. Also look at the Talyllyn Railway, which isn't too far - some lovely views from there too. I'd say that those are the pick of the Welsh narrow gauge lines - although I haven't been on the Welsh Highland Railway. Matthew
