note it can not be used towards auto tips and casino.

Also note that it does not show up on your Princess personalizer but it will be on your account when you board. I always bring a copy of my cruise contract with my travel agent that shows the credit just in case, but have never had a problem.

I have been able to use all my OBC toward final bill. Never had any stipulations. They just deduct OBC from final bill. I guess (from reading this board) there are some OBC that do have limitations, I just have never had them.

All the On board credits we have received have been put on our shipboard account the day we boarded. Charges then have been put on including "auto tip". Even if there were no other charges as the daily "auto tip" was posted the credit balance reduced.

We have never had it handled any other way even for OBC received as a CCL stock holder which says " cannot be used for casino credits/charges and gratuities charged to your onboard account."

Since I just happened to run into this pricing a cruise, I will post it here. It is an offer from an online agency for the cruise we are interested in. This could be what the OP is talking about, this offer is of $100 shipboard credit for our future cruise, if we decide to book:

(this does not name the agency, so I figured it would be OK to quote here)

"Offer Details: Offer applicable to new bookings in US dollars only. Shipboard credit cannot be used towards gratuities or casino charges. Choice of 1 bottle of red or white wine delivered at dinner. Photo voucher will be delivered in cabin"

we have to agree with the last post.

We were also curious what the average bill was so we asked Mr. James Deering... our Passengers Services Director. On the Emerald in the winter on the 10 day itinerary he said an average bill is just over $500.

We are above average!

Note he said that the average changes based on time of year, itinerary and ship.

The AVERAGE bill is $500???!!?!?!!??

Wow! PLEASE don't tell my DH that...and I guess I can expect Princess to send a limo to the hotel to pick us up with our AVERAGE bill.

Leaving for FT L for the Emerald in 3 days...I can only HOPE my bill will be "average"! LOL

I am to get an onboard credit from my TA but it does not show up on my Princess site. Should I call my TA? Final payment has been made and I just got the travel docs from Princess

If the OBC is from your TA and not from Princess, it WILL NOT show up on your Princess Personalizer. But, it will be on your account when you get to the ship as a credit. The only credits shown on the Princess site are those that come directly from Princess. Take along your booking confirmation just to play it safe.

And take along your TA's e-mail addres so he/she can take care of it if it does not show up after you check your account on board.

Not sure what the apply towards, but I have never been able to escape a cruise without a bill at least 5 times any OBC I have ever been given, so guess I was not worried about it! LOL :)

I am so happy to be out of the average -- we seldom leave any extra money beyond the OBC. We try to get enough to cover the tips. On the cruise we did in Tahiti, we had too much OBC and ended up getting a refund for a small percent fee at the casino.
