Benjismum Posted February 22, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 22, 2008 Hi, I've been reading a lot about the fog in Galveston, which can apparently still occur in April, which is when we are due to cruise - does this mean that the weather is cold then? We are flying in from the UK, and it would help to know what to pack, as we are staying in the area pre and post cruise. Should I bring a mix of clothes just in case? Or would I be safe with summer - shorts, Tshirts sort of things? thanks
wolfganghowell Posted February 22, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 22, 2008 Uh oh no one must have warned you about Texas weather. ;) It can be hot or cold - usually within one day. Best to check right before you travel and be ready to layer if necessary. Weather that time if year is usually mild - 70s. Key word is usually. dforeigner Posted February 23, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 23, 2008 It varies, it could be cold and windy or sunny and hot. Last year, it was in the 50s-60s when we sailed. Along with overcast skies and strong winds. Upon returning, is was nice and sunny 70s-80s. There was a cold front coming through when we sailed. ESR24 Posted February 23, 2008 #4 Share Posted February 23, 2008 I'm concerned with the fog as well. Not necessarily about the clothing but more with potential delays during embarkation/debarkation. Is April a time when there are typically delays? We are flying in a day early but may fly out a day after the cruise just to be on the safe side. txskier Posted February 23, 2008 #5 Share Posted February 23, 2008 ....it's a crap shoot on the fog. check weather dot com the day before departing and Galveston dot com the day of heading to the cruise terminal to check the webcam to "see" if there is fog

Benjismum Posted February 23, 2008 Author #7 Share Posted February 23, 2008 Thanks for the replies, I will bring a mix of clothes just in case. That link is very useful Kat, thanks, it looks like 73 - 76 average when we will be there, which is very very pleasant by UK April standards :)
