Miami - good casual seafood

I'm looking for a dinner rec for the night before our cruise. We will be staying at the Hyatt near Bayside and would like to find a casual yet good seafood restaurant.

Any recs?

If "Bubba Gumps" is still there (we were there in 2003) it was GREAT!!!! The best seafood I have eaten. I think it was at Bayside. I hope that they are still there, so we can go back in May before we board the ship.

Will you have a car?

 

If yes - go to either of the Monty Trainer locations and eat at the raw bar. The Coconut Grove location looks over a marina and you can explore the rest of the Grove after

The Miami Beach location looks over a Miami Beach marina and the end of Government Cut ... the cruise ship channel. (and has a pool for the kids)

 

No car? Well, yes there is Bayside (or you can cab to the MB Monty location) but Bubba's? Ugh ... cheap chain. Walk thru Bayside....read the menus and you'll find something you like....don't rush.

We were very unimpressed with Bubba Gumps. If you like your seafood battered & fried, then that is the place for you. :rolleyes: Otherwise, stay away.

 

There are many other seafood restaurants in Miami to choose from, which serve good seafood which is cooked nicely.
