Going on a 13 night Italy cruise in April. It has 3 formal nights. Is it ok to wear a velvet halter gown in April? or it velvet too wintery a fabric?

I don't think it's particularly HOT in April in Italy--is it? I think your gown would be ok! I mean, in the dead of winter, you wear strapless gowns of all fabrics!!!!

With these bizarre weather changes Europe especially Italy starts heating up mid April. We were there last summer in the first week of June and it was in the 90's! However I think a velvet halter top for an evening formal would be lovely and most appropriate!

Yes, but most December cruises are in tropical/summer places like the Caribbean, South America or Australia, therefore making velvet silly looking, IMHO.

 

But yes, if there was a Dec cruise to Italy, velvet would be a nice choice.
