SA VS PS Question

Besides the size of the cabin, balcony and Jacuzzi on the deck are there any other differences? Bathrooms? service or amenities? Embarking or Debarking?

Well, the size is twice that of a S suite. So that is considerable. And additional amenities can be arranged, such as personal dinner service, course by course, using the pantry. You work with the maitre d'.

There is a additional half bath. There is a dining room. And the full bath is quite a bit bigger than an S Suite bath, if I remember correctly.

The closet is much larger as well. There is some nice artwork. And a maze of light switches that will keep you busy the entire cruise!!

Thanks for the response, right now I have the PS booked with the VA next door. My wife thinks that connecting SAs would be better for us. We are a family of 5 so I am just trying to figure out what we want to do.

If you can afford the luxury of the PH I would stay with the PH and VA. Just having the full sized DR table to have quiet family meals would be great. Not to mention having the private hot tub on your balcony. You only live once, so spoil your family while you still can! Enjoy every minute.

fpat - I see you're sailing on Noordam next year. She's beautiful.

I've only visited the PS, so memory is a bit fuzzy - there is a small galley kitchen immediately inside the door. The PS also has a separate sitting area with a sofa & several chairs. There was a rollaway bed tucked into a cupboard. I remember several TVs throughout the cabin. There was a walk-in closet. The main bathroom was..............amazing. Has to be seen to be believed. The extra half-bath is a luxury. The balcony goes on forever & that jacuzzi out there is just too too much!

Food for thought - with the PS & VA next door, will the pax in the VA be eligible for Neptune access & other suite privileges, like Pinnacle breakfast? I don't know, having never sailed in a suite. If all of you stay in the adjoining SAs, then you would. You might want to contact HAL or your TA for details.

Whatever you decide, enjoy. :)

No, but they could eat all their meals in the PH...

We were in the PH on the Westerdam this past December. It truly is a fabulous cabin. I do not believe your other family members will be able to use the Neptune Lounge. If the concierge is making reservations for you, it should be no problem to include everyone else.

Embarkation was a dream. The very first HAL representative we saw at curbside summoned someone to walk us through and escort us on board. I believe everyone is allowed to remain in their cabins on debarkation morning. It went very smoothly as well.

The fullsize fridge in the Butler's pantry is very convenient. The PH is perfect for entertaining and it is very easy to arrange through the concierge. The additional half bath is great when you have guests. The huge veranda was probably my favorite part. I really don't enjoy the crowded pool areas, so I loved the serene privacy and room service on sea days. Have a wonderful cruise!

I'm sure I'll never be booking a PH, but I love reading about it!

Somewhere earlier on this board, someone posted that while there may not be any additional official amenities, they certainly try to do everything they can for you.

On the other hand, someone also posted a list of requests from PH passengers (or similar-level suite passengers on other lines) that were just a bit over the top. Requests such as turning the ship around so they could have a better view from their verandah.
