Boatyard reviews

We were there about a month ago. We are 50ish, with 3 grown-up kids, so "been there" with 5 and 9 year old. Boatyard is geared up for the 18-30 crowd, so really no is the answer.

Boatyard is on Carlisle Bay, approximately 2 miles long, so you can use the beach without entering Boatyard. Go onto beach at Lobster Alive, next to Boatyard, and you will not be subject to the Boatyard entrance charge which is really for use of the "water toys" which are definitely not suitable for your children.

There is nothing to stop you wandering into "Boatyard" beach territory to have a look, as the whole of Carlisle Bay is an open and public beach.

Go next door to Lobster Alive and enjoy the same beach for a lot less.

Hopefully the link below works.

It had pictures of the beach there

and shows you the water toys you pay for by going to the Boatyard.

Tried your link, but I have sign up to see your pics.

Not doing that (signed up to enough places already!)

Try my beach pics at

where you'll you'll find a link to Lobster Alive pics, and also to Carlisle Bay pics

- all on the same long 2-mile-curve of a beach.

Have just spent some time looking through aplmac photo album. Out of all the beaches Carlisle Bay is the least pretty!! Wish we had gone somewhere else now. If you are wanting to spend more than an hour or two on beach, would advise NOT Carlisle Bay.
