Rooms overlooking bow-door slamming probs?

Recommended Posts

We've never booked a cabin overlooking the bow, but, it can be very windy at the forward section of the ship and door opening and slamming could definitely be an issue. Furthermore, a forward cabin will experience a lot of movement when the ship is in rough seas.

Other than that it's a great location.

Hopefully not too much motion, the ship is on the Oosterdam, since your sailing the Noordam maybe you can check out that location, I'm not sure of the deck, but the cabin numbers are 6001 and 6002, there is one on each side and they are the only bow facing staterooms on the whole ship unless you count officer cabins.

I like your clip art by the way, but at first glance it looks like the ship pictured is in trouble.

We've yet to book a cabin where any and all of the other cabins doors aren't slamming repeatedly! And, just like any hotel, you will hear that!

Isnt that the truth--

what happens is people are on their balcony with their balcony door open... then someone tries to open their cabin door creating a wind tunnel effect. Very loud-- vory rude. It happens a lot in the begining of the cruise as people get more wiser to the fact.. What gets me is the people who do it over and over and over.

We hung a post it note on a door of people who kept doing it at all hours of the night-- after our note we didnt hear it again.
