vip boarding

VIP boarding is for passengers who are staying in suites (cat 11 or 12), passengers who have already completed ten cruises with Carnival (platinum members) and members of the CVC (Carnival Vacation Club).

When it was limited to just people in the suite it meant that your check in line was much shorter. My last Carnival cruise was on the Glory in April 2006. The VIP check in line was as long as the non-VIP check in line because of all the platinum members on that cruise.

VIP Boarding is suppose to be for anyone that books a Category 11 or 12 and those passengers who have reached Platinum status, having cruised with Carnival at least 10 or more times...

Lately, for some unknown reason, it seems that Carnival has been sending out tickets marked "Proceed to VIP Boarding" to passengers who do not meet either of the above.

FYI to stop folks from asking a lot of questions about this that have never heard of it...

it is no longer available to purchase. All existing contracts are being honored until they expire and the last ones should expire around April 2012.

So NOW the only way to get it is to book a Cat 11 or 12 or be a Platinum member which you earn ON your 10th Carnival cruise.

All cruise lengths count (even cruises to nowhere) but only Carnival cruises...not any with sister cruise lines.

Happy Cruising!
