Alexis Posted March 15, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 15, 2008 Where can I find out when a ship is scheduled for drydock/refurburishing. Thanks ahead of time papae This is an updated Drydock schedule. ;) Updates As with any schedule that RCCL puts out way in advance, things change. ;) I used to post that statement with the DryDock schedule so that CC's would be aware of sudden dates that were different. Silvery Seas Cruiser Posted March 15, 2008 #6 Share Posted March 15, 2008 It should be noted that drydock time does not always mean a major refurb. It more often means attention to mechanical issues and ship maintenence that is too hard to carry out during ports of call. Some minor refurbishing and interior repairs may be done, but do not count on a major refurbishment just because the ship has been in drydock. Alexis Posted March 15, 2008 #12 Share Posted March 15, 2008 The Navigator is scheduled for retro fit 2009/2010. What is that and what are they going to do? *** The best way to answer that is by the this: Retro fit means: 1. To fit into or onto equipment already in existence or service. 2. To substitute new or modernized parts or systems for older equipment

RnD Posted March 17, 2008 #14 Share Posted March 17, 2008 We just booked a Mediterranean cruise for January 5. The only concern I had was the age of the ship versus NCL's Jade. I like the NCL 2 nights in Alexandria, but overall have not heard wonderful things about NCL, and after our Hawaii NCL experience last year am not at all sure about the merits of "Freestyle" dining. Are there any major refits/upgrades going on in April? We are also looking forward our June 1 trip on AOs. Its so terrific to have two cruises to look forward to. This will make numbers 52 and 52 I think.
Sequim88 Posted March 17, 2008 #15 Share Posted March 17, 2008 Brilliance in April (mostly in May) is to install a diesel engine for power generation while in port. Also...the dates shown are apparently "out of service" dates and not the actual time in D-D because our TA on BoS docks at Southampton England on the 26th but the D-D is being done in Germany. Will probably take a day or two to get to the facility. Probably also would take time to get back to Southampton for resumption of schedule. While at it I would be really surprised if there was not also some scheduled "extra" cleaning and the sort of maintenance tasks that are hard to do with passengers around (noisy or safety issues). Alexis Posted June 22, 2008 #25 Share Posted June 22, 2008 I have a question. I am sailing on Voyager on May 13, 2009. Do u know where she is being refurbed? We are sailing out of Southampton, and the schedule u posted states she will be in refurb from 3-13 May. The schedule that I posted was given to us by CC Albert Ross. He has a source where he gets the DRYDOCK schedules and it is usually right. :D When it says the 13th, that may mean it is finished on that date and sails again on the 13th? Maybe Albert will return and explain. I have no idea where she will be Drydocked. If anyone on here knows this, please let us all know. Thanks. ;)
