cruisecruzer Posted March 15, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 15, 2008 I'm looking at joining independent tours and want to know if anyone has any suggestions for tour companies in Hobart and Melbourne? Annie
Rare MMDown Under Posted March 15, 2008 #2 Share Posted March 15, 2008 Unless you want to go on a organised tour from Hobart or Melbourne, you can tour Hobart and Melbourne independently. Refer further down the thread for suggestions of what to do in Melbourne.
gamelady Posted March 18, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 18, 2008 We used www.melbournehostedtours.com.au who did a wonderful job. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend David to anyone.
SheilaNC Posted March 18, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 18, 2008 For Melbourne, you can contact the Visitors' Bureau and ask for a free volunteer to do a half day tour of the city. It helps to know in advance what you wish to see. We did it on a cold, rainy day with Peter as our guide...visited two locations of the Art Museum, walked through the arcades, road the tram and visited the old library to see a very interesting room dedicated to books on Australia. All in all a very lovely day to see the city through the eyes of a retired teacher at no cost....he wouldn't even take a tip or let us buy him lunch!
