C&A questions, haven't cruised for over 4 years

Recommended Posts

Hi!

My husband and I are sailing AoS on September 14th for our honeymoon, I'm a C&A member but this is his first cruise. Unfortunately I haven't been on a ship for just over four years, what with getting married, buying a house, etc., and I just need a refresher, considering I was pretty young at the last time I sailed and didn't pay much attention to the benefits.

I know that I get a coupon booklet in the room upon arrival, but what kind of stuff is in there? I think that I'm still just a gold member (this will be my 5th RCCL sailing). I vaguely remember the repeaters party, my husband gets to come with me, correct?

I also logged into the C&A section of RCCL's website to see what "certificates" were posted. I looked at AOS sailings and noticed that it gives a certificate for every sailing in September except ours. Since I had booked my vacation through RCCL's website, is it not an option for me to obtain a savings certificate, or do you think that it is the luck of the draw that our sailing just had no certificate available?

Sorry I'm long-winded, it has just been a while and I wanted to be as well-informed as possible.

Thanks!!

Most of the coupons in the Gold book are of the BOGO type or offer at least token benefits such as a limited number of free internet connection minutes, or casino play, and your husband should be able to accompany you to the repeater's party with no problem. As far as savings certificates go, the manner in which you booked your cruise has no bearing on the fact that there are no coupons for your particular sailing. It is your misfortune or fortune (depending on how you choose to look at it;)) that you apparently selected a cruise that is so popular that the line did not consider it necessary to offer a discount to encourage bookings. Enjoy your cruise. Next time you will both be Platinum and the benefits will increase.:)

yes, this will be a gold sailing for you, your next will be platinum. you will get a coupon booklet when you arrive, and a free gift. on the sept. 2007 cruise i took ( the last one i went on), the gift was a tote bag. the books have different coupons depending on your length of cruise. they usually have a coupon for a free wine tasting, a free dinner at johnny rockets, 5 dollar casino credit, a credit at the photo gallery, 10% off at the spa, a bingo card free when you buy the bingo package, 10 free minutes on the internet, 25% off ben and jerrys and seattle's best coffee, etc.... a lot of them are worth using. oh, and also there's one for a 20%, i think, discount at the royal caribbean logo store. i always use the casino credit and the internet minutes.

there usually is a repeaters party where they **** there "next big thing" like they did for genesis when i was on freedom. and they give out free drinks. i'm sure they'd let your husband in, but i wouldn't know first hand because me and the husband have the same number of cruises under our collective "belt".

Are you married already and this is a delayed honeymoon? Or, are you getting married just prior to the cruise. If you are already married, your husband is a gold member also. All members of a family living under the same roof get the rating of the highest family member. So, call C&A and get your husband registered and make sure his C&A number gets added to the reservation. Then he will get a coupon book and the token gift that C&A gives to all of it's members also.
