Paying for excursions

With Princess, do you pay when you reserve them online, or do they just go on your on-ship tab?

Thanks in advance!

I called and they said that you are free to reserve online and then it will be charged only when you take the excursion the ship... Carnival was different you had to prepay for any excursion.

The daily Princess Patter will tell you the closing time for each port. If you want to cancel a tour you must cancel by that time or you will be charged. It is usually, 7pm two evenings before you arrive in the port.

It's correct that the daily Princess Patter will have a notice as to which shore excursions are closing and the time. However, the time can be 24 - 48 hours (or longer) before the excursion time. Keep checking the Patter. If you don't want the excursions, Princess makes it easy for you to cancel: there's a drop box in front of the Shore Excursion desk; just drop your tickets into the box and they'll be credited back on your onboard account. FYI, the tickets will be waiting for you in your cabin when you first embark or delivered shortly afterwards. They will have the meeting time and place as well as any other special instructions for your tour (such as bring a towel, etc.) printed right on the ticket.
