Cruise Cocktails

At home its wine always. Cruising starts out with bloody marys, then drink of the day as long as we are at the pool, champane before dinner and of course wine with dinner. I know it sounds like a lot of drinking but what else are vacations for!!

Just have to tell you about the Woo Woo! Not to bad and a good time follows.

Ingredients:

- Vodka

- Peach Schnapps

- Cranberry Juice

Glassware: Shot glass

Making multiple shots:

If a shot glass holds 3 ounces when making 4 shots, the total amount of mixture in a cocktail shaker should be 12 ounces. (3 glasses x 4 drinks = 12 ounces). If a cocktail contains three ingredients, pour one ounce of each ingredient. Pour the mixture into each shot glass equally.

Generally I'm a wine drinker at home, but on cruises I tend to drink pina coladas, beer or bloody marys... I've never tried the caesar but now I'm intrigued... it's the same as a bloody mary but with clamato instead of tomato juice? Is it fishy tasting?

Clamato is not fishy tasting at all. You will enjoy a Caesar. A Caesar uses vodka, clamato, few drops of Worcestershire sauce, and Cayenne Pepper Sauce like Frank's to taste. The glass is rimmed with celery salt. Garnished with traditionally a piece of celery, but lately some bartenders garnish with either a pickled aparagus spear or a pickled green bean.

Very delicious....gotta try it. I find it almost impossible to get a Caesar in the US as it seems to be a Canadian cocktail. :D

This has probably been done before but here goes anyway! Do you have a favourite cruise cocktail? Do you stick to what you drink at home or do you try new cocktails?

My favourite is a Bloody Mary, however last year on the Legend I decided to go for the Vodka Martinis - well the first two days anyway after that I left them well alone!

Looking forward to my first cruise cocktail on the Century at the end of the month.... now what will that be?..

I love to try the "drink of the day"... but also dislike being disappointed. I do know that on our last cruise my wife and I were not disappointed by the "drink of the day" on the first day of the cruise.

After my cruise last week on the Star Princess to Alaska, my favorite cruise cocktail is now the Passionada Martini. It is GG Vodka, Triple Sec, and Passion Fruit. Yummy!

There were others on the trip really enjoying the Cucumber Martini, but I wasn't game enough to try one of these. It is, though, a Bacardi Cruise Bartender award winning cocktail according to the Princess cocktail menu.

I am one of those people who are blessed(cursed) with the ability to consume a variety of drinks. I will start out with a beer or two followed by a liquor drink of, say, whiskey sour If that doesn't please me, I can go to a glass of wine. Red, white, blush, or sparkling it doesn't matter just whatever my pallette desires. Gin and tonic, sours, daquiris, margarettas, martinis, screwdrivers, brandy alexanders are a few of my favorites just to name a few. I'm not saying I consume large quantities at one time. I can pick and choose my libations without the fear of becoming ill or waking up with a hangover in the morning. I'm going to try a few of the recipes posted here. Some of them look interesting.

Ooo the Cesaur sounds awesome!

I usually don't drink sugary drinks...maybe 1 or 2 the whole time tops. Too many of them make me sick. I typically stick to my normal - anything with vodka! I usually drink:

flavored vodka w/soda water

flavored vodka w/sugar free redbull

martinis (1 or 2 at a time)

sometimes I'll have:

rum and diet

red bull & vodka

pina colada

bloody mary

screwdriver

lite beer

blue moon

Yes I quite like Caesars. They go nicely if your eating Wings, Nachos and Salsa or any pub style food. Or they are great on their own. They are a tasty drink, but a traditional tropical, rum punch type drink or pina colada probably best for poolside.

Ok, Lets see

Between 9- 12 Bloody Mary's

Between noon and 4 a bucket of beer or two!

Back in the room by five for a shower for dinner, I will stop and get TWO YELLOWBIRDS" for a refreshing drink with the wife.

wine at our table for dinner.

then back to the room and a big bottle of water, change back into shorts, sandals, and a tank, then off to see a show, casino or whatever~

Go to bed and BEGIN ALL OVER AGAIN! Heck were on VACATION!:D

I had a BBC on the Ryndam last year, but for the life of me I can't remember what the ingredients are...any help?:)

Otherwise I have to wait til my Sept cruise, I'd sure like to have one before then. Thanks!

It is like a Long Island Iced Tea, but made with Champagne instead of the splash of Coke. Princess Cruises make them yummy. Haven't gotten the Carnival bartenders to get it quite right yet. Hopefully my next cruise in 11 days on the Legend............

After reading this thread my mouth is watering!! I am a drinker of sparkling at home but on a cruise I like to have a fruit tingle or midori splice. Though I do hope I can get a kiss on the kips they sound delicious.

How about a well made Mojito or even a classic Gin and Tonic made with the best gin - Bombay Sapphire Gin.

A Mojito is really refreshing. The Gin and Tonic nice clean and simple great before dinner.

Extracts from last year's NCL Jade write up ".......tempted by the allure of cocktails in the StarBar on the way to our stateroom, this time topped with the great company and service of the 2 Philipino bartenders who we made compete to produce the better cocktail." And "........we popped to the Bali Hai Bar because we had run out of packaged cigarettes and we did not want to roll any for the next day. We are definitely getting more and more idle! Standing next to a guy at the bar, I thought I heard him order a…….Boddingtons! Had I died and gone to heaven? Enquiring I discovered they had secured a delivery the day before. Oh Joy, Joy, Joy. So we had 3 glasses of our favourite brew before retiring. Ok $5.50 is a bit more expensive than £16 for 36 cans at Asda, but what price heaven?
