BarbaB Posted April 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2008 I have seen several postings that refer to open bookings for future cruises while on your current adventure. I hate to sound dense, but what is this, and what is the advantage to booking your next cruise while onboard?
pms4104 Posted April 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted April 7, 2008 For a minimal deposit of $100 an onboard passenger has the option of booking a specific cruise or using that money as an option on a future cruise not yet determined. The monies are not refundable but are good for 4 years ... if not used toward a specific booking in that timeframe, the deposit is lost and becomes part of HAL's bottom line. If you book a specific cruise while onboard, you may leave the reservation with HAL or transfer it immediately or once back home to your own T/A. There may be some cruisefare discount, tho not enormous, and OBC's based on the length of trip and cabin category booked. For instance, for a 14-day in a verandah on the Statendam this coming December, our OBC was $75/person and our cost was some $500/person less than the current HAL prices. Krazy Kruizers Posted April 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2008 And we are also able to combine our Carnival Shipboard credit and American Express shipboard with HAL's shipboard credit -- really great!!!
Williebill Posted April 8, 2008 #4 Share Posted April 8, 2008 I may try booking another cruise while on board next December; I've never tried it. Bill
