There isn't much on this board about things to do in Portland. Anybody done any interesting excursions/activities? I've looked at the cruiseline offerings and tried to research it online, but it doesn't seem to be one of the more exciting ports.

Does anybody know if the ships offer shuttle buses into Portland? I'll be there with my teenage daughter and none of the ship's excursions look like much fun, but we'd enjoy walking around the area and shopping and trying out new restaurants. We'll be on a Royal Caribbean cruise.

Rent a car for a day and drive up to Freeport....kill the day wandering thru LL Beans.

I think you'll find more info about Portland, Maine on the New England board than you will on the Canada board - even though some cruises go to both places.
