sorry - another question

 

do people tend to go on an excursion at every port of call - we have 9 so could get pricey !! are there things to do locally without spending a fortune?

Ship's tours get expensive..yes: that's common knowledge throughout the cruise industry

which is why most people try a D-I-Y thing when going ashore.

 

In the Caribbean, DIY tours ashore are really quite easy

since there are lots of taxi drivers and private tour operators eager for your business.

 

I've only ever cruised the Carib. region

and so can't comment on conditions in the Med.

but don't imagine them to be vastly different!

Get a group together and fill an air-conditioned VAN like this one

and get a reasonable rate per person!
